Description | As a modular synthesizer with the 22x22 pin patch matrix and features like 3 VCOs, a 8 step sequencer and a joystick. The Vostok Deluxe is clearly a unique workstation. Vostok Deluxe features a bigger case, a spring reverb, sequencer with a step-repeat function, a third LFO and more sockets and attenuators.
The Vostok Deluxe features a Midi to CV/Gate-converter, 3 VCOs (one with sub-oscillator), a VCA, an AC-coupled ring modulator, 2 ADSRs with repeat, 3 LFOs, a sample and hold circuit, CV/audio-mixer with VU-meter and a multiples. the eight-step-sequencer has a new step repeat function. The Accurtonics spring reverb has a three-spring-tank for dense sound.
The MS20 filters are separate low pass and high pass filters. The high pass filter can be used as a low pass as well, so you can obtain a 24dB lowpass by patching the filters in series.
Vostok uses a 12dB per octave multimode filter which has plenty of character. The two filters can be combined to act as a single 24dB per octave LPF.
The Vostok is not pre-patched - all audio and CV connections have to be done manually by patch cords and/or the pin matrix.
Vostok is an analogue synthesiser. The voice and modulation circuitry are entirely analogue, using all discrete and op-amp components.
Vostok is for use any time you need analogue sound effects, fat basses, screaming leads, beeps, tones, zaps, and all the other crazy sounds associated with analogue synthesis.Vostok has an audio input socket, so you can feed external sounds into the on-board analogue filters or spring reverb for analogue processing. This sound could come from an audio track on your DAW (for example a vocal track), from a sampler, or even, say a CD player.
It is easy enough to patch this synth up to create all sorts of electronic percussion sounds, including, snares, kicks, hihats, metal sounds.
